About Marge
Medd
Marge Medd will bring her 30-year record
of service and leadership to the State Senate for the
Oxford Hills and Lakes Regions. Senator George Mitchell
and former Governor Angus King are enthusiastic supporters
of Marge’s candidacy, knowing her record of achievement
and potential for leadership in Augusta.
Marge brought opportunity to the Western
Maine area through the new Western Maine University
and Community College Center, and as chair of the Oxford
Hills Growth Council, which also serves the Lakes Region.
Following years of service on the MSAD 17 School Board,
Marge went on to gain tremendous state-level experience
as former chair of the Maine Board of Education and
as a member of many committees relating to health care
and education. In 2005, she was appointed by Governor
John E. Baldacci to the University of Maine System Board
of Trustees.
A good listener, Marge will include
visits to all Boards of Selectmen in her district, and
will be visiting homes and businesses, as well as community
events, throughout her campaign. She will bring strong
advocacy and an independent spirit to the Senate with
a particular emphasis on jobs, healthcare and educational
opportunity. She and her husband, Dr. Bill Medd, have
3 grown children and live in Norway. |
